Chris Whitten brings more than 35 years of experience to the resolution of civil disputes. After 20 years on the Maricopa County Superior Court, including 11 years handling civil and commercial cases, he understands how judges and juries evaluate cases.

Before becoming a judge, Chris spent 15 years as a civil trial lawyer, representing plaintiffs and defendants, appearing in the Superior Courts in 13 of Arizona's 15 counties. He was certified by the Arizona State Bar as a Specialist in Serious Injury and Wrongful Death Litigation and was admitted to the American Board of Trial Advocates as a trial lawyer.

That combination gives Chris a practical perspective on how cases are prepared, presented, evaluated, tried, and decided.
